United Club Card Secret

United Airlines, Chase, and Tasty teamed up with CRONY to create the United Club Card Secret: a vintage travel-inspired activation where members were able to enjoy craft cocktails from a real mixologist and pose for a swanky photo op. This project was very fast-paced, with a 3-week turnaround. I had a lot of fun brainstorming logos, creating both pencil and vector versions of the top contenders. It was also a fun challenge to create the wallpaper that would span the entire backdrop of the activation. It included making faux wainscotting and a custom damask pattern. I wanted to balance the ornamental filagree with the clunky old-fashioned planes and United logo; and once it was made into a pattern, it really came together. And although the damask pattern was originally created for the wallpaper, it got used on nearly all the pieces of signage in some way or another. The signage included welcome signs, wayfinding signs, floor decals, multiple menus, and the SharingBox camera wrap and UX screens; shown below. I also sourced the furniture, props, decor, and imagery for the team; compiling them into an organized document for easy reference. With sourcing complete, next came making the activation mockup. As you can see when you compare the mockups to the event video, it’s pretty accurate to the final look. Originally created for the United Club Card Lounge in LAX, this activation was also set up in the Denver, Dulles, Houston, Newark, O’Hare, and San Fransisco airports.
